Hi, I'm Mary, veteran spouse and Co-Founder of Family One Source and Beatty Marketing Group. It wasn't until I married into the Air Force over two decades ago, I truly understood the scope of the financial decisions service members and their families must face during their careers. I quickly realized no one joins the military to get rich, but military life affords us many ways to live richly. But where do you start?
My focus on financial planning grew out of my own efforts to manage our family money while on the move and through frequent deployments. I was determined to become what we could not find on our own financial journey; an advisor that specializes in helping our military build wealth and achieve their dreams. My experience from being a military spouse and mom will help you incorporate the unique military pays and benefits that are part of your life into that decision-making process. I provide organization, objectivity, education, and partnership to help individuals and families navigate transitions, clarify complexity, and sleep well knowing their goals are on track. We have recently expanded our practice to serve all First Responders and Federal Government Employees as well.
For over 20 years, Ive been helping individuals and families learn how to set themselves up for success. I believe everyone deserves expert financial advice that is transparent, solution focused, and collaborative. It is all about giving back to the military community because they have done so much for us. That is why many of our services are complimentary for Military and First Responders.
Give us a call today and see how we can help better your financial journey!

Hello, I’m Ryan – Air Force Veteran and co-founder of Family One Source and Beatty Marketing Group. I come from a long line of military service, so it was only natural that I joined the military too. In 2001, I enlisted in the Air Force as a F-15 Crew Chief/Maintainer. I loved being a part of the Fighter Jet world and the 12-years I spent on active duty afforded me with some amazing opportunities and experiences. I PCSed to Tyndall AFB, Florida in 2004 and was the Lead 7-Level for the 325th FW Flagship Jet. In 2009, I switched gears and became an instructor for both the F-15/F-22 HOT Training Programs and was one of the original members who established the F-15E HOT Training Program at Seymore Johnson AFB, which still operates today.
During my time spent on active duty, I experienced firsthand the benefits and challenges that military life can have on all aspects of life, especially with our finances. Frequent changes like TDY’s, deployments, and PCS’s add unique opportunities and obstacles. Not to mention, the changing and sometimes confusing military pay and benefits. Coupling those with the countless people offering advice or services, there is often a lack of clarity on how to start building a plan to reach your goals.
It was really during my time of instructing that I realized how much I enjoyed teaching and educating airmen. In 2012, when my controlled tour as an instructor ended, I left the Air Force to continue what I loved most; educating servicemen and women on how to get the most out of their military careers and money.
I primarily work with Active Duty and Veterans in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are looking to plan for their transition from the military to the civilian world. This age range is what I refer to the “thick” of your life and often the most complex. Family, kids, home ownership, careers, and the resulting financial obligations all while trying to figure out that long-term goal of financial independence. My mission is to help Active Duty and Veterans create financial structure in their lives and BUILD wealth. I have figured out all the small yet important details…so you don’t have to.
Outside of financial planning, I enjoy spending time with family, watching sports, and I like stuff that goes fast… cars, boats, and of course jets. I follow Formula 1 and endurance car racing…. which may have played a part when creating our F1S logo.
My goal is to always leave someone with useful takeaways after they meet with me regardless of their decision to become a client. That includes cash flows, debt management, investing, insurance, taxes, as well as retirement and education planning. Making the plan is only the first step. To achieve your goals, we’ll continue to work together to implement recommendations, monitor your progress, and make any necessary changes to keep you and your goals on track.
Reach out and let’s do this – together.

Hello, I’m Paul, founder, and owner of Palm Financial. I loved my 20 years in the Army. I was stationed all over the world in places like Germany, Greece, West Point, Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft. Lewis, Ft. Stewart, and Ft. Benning. Three of those 20 years I spent as a drill instructor, and I served in Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Somalia. My military career taught me the importance of setting goals and building a plan to achieve them. I love talking with people about their story and helping guide them to their fullest potential.
It is my military background that has led me to focus my services on those clients who are currently serving or have served in the past. My experience with programs such as the Thrift Savings Plan, the Blended Retirement System, Survivor Benefits, and navigating the VA disability process is not only professional, but personal as well. Having retired from the military, I understand the financial issues and benefits that are involved with military service. Most importantly, I’ve lived the life of active duty and now as a military retiree. My goal is to take the experiences and lessons I learned and pass that on to other service members, veterans, and retirees. Helping them to avoid costly mistakes and guide them on a better path.
One of the most common financial planning needs of military and veteran families is tax planning and preparation. As a tax professional, I can prepare your tax returns and ensure you only pay the taxes you owe and receive the maximum refund you're entitled to. As a way to give back to our Military and First Responders, our tax preparation services are always complimentary for them and their families. I am also a FTC Certified Credit Counselor, and can help with money and debt management, teaching you how to become and live debt free.
I married the love of my life, Linda, in 1995 who also served in the Army. After retiring from our last duty station, Ft. Benning, we decided to call Columbus, Georgia home. We are blessed with 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
We are both Deacons of the Ambassadors of Christ Cathedral and enjoy being a part of such a giving community of people. We helped coordinate the Financial Stewardship Ministry and hosted financial bible studies and budget workshops. Together, Linda and I love to host small groups and work with the Marriage & Family Life Ministry mentoring and teaching.
Hanging up my uniform hasn’t changed my core values. I believe honesty and integrity are essential in all facets of life and I keep service to others at the forefront of my business.
I’d love the opportunity to work with you and see how together we can make your dreams and goals become reality.

Hi, I’m Kiersten, Air Force Spouse, Family One Source Client, and now a F1S Financial Coach. My husband, Chris, and I were originally introduced to Family One Source in 2017 by a co-worker while stationed at Tyndall AFB in FL. We were amazed at how many things we learned about our benefits and especially with money and taxes. At that time my husband had been active duty for 7 years, and I wondered how many other military members and families were missing this game changing information. In 2018, I joined the F1S Team as Director of Client Services, but ultimately transitioned over to the financial planning side as a Financial Coach. I’m currently working towards my Registered Financial Planner designation.
Being a military spouse, I’ve experienced firsthand the benefits and challenges that military life can have on all aspects of life, but especially finances. My mission as a financial coach is simple, to help military families gain a better understanding of their benefits and pay. I do this by helping align their finances with their values, improve financial decision-making and behavior, decrease financial stress, take advantage of opportunities, and avoid pitfalls and find contentment with living a debt free lifestyle.
My passion for helping people has always extended to the surrounding communities where we have been stationed. I feel it’s so important to support local businesses that give back to our military community. When I’m not working, I enjoy a good cup of coffee and exploring all things Alaska!
Whether your current goals involve purchasing a first home, creating a family budget, or planning for retirement, I want to help you make the best decisions with your money. I offer the option of both in-person and virtual meetings.
If you ever have questions about your benefits or about specific financial products, contact me. We will set up a time to meet to review your needs and address any questions you may have. Working together, we will create a plan to meet your financial goals.

Hi, I’m Lael – prior military spouse, mother, and F1S Financial Coach. A question I often get is what exactly does a financial coach do? A financial coach is a personal finance expert or educator in areas such as getting out of debt, saving for the future, budgeting, credit, increasing income, saving for college, and all-around smart money management. Some may specialize in one or two areas, such as budgeting and credit. Others, such as myself, may cover most personal financial topics, giving you the guidance, tools (and even a little push when needed) to make better money decisions.
Being a military spouse was hard! I understand firsthand the challenges that spouses face. Often, we are left to manage everything while our military partners are dealing with long workdays, deployments, and last minute TDYs. For myself, the biggest challenge I faced as a military spouse was that feeling of being left in the dark. As spouses, we rarely receive the same information and/or understanding of the resources available to us. Making it challenging to utilize those resources which are put in place to help ease the burden of our spouse being gone. It was at that time I realized I needed to help others by helping bridge the gap between military personnel and spouses with the information and benefits available to them.
I hold a great deal of respect for our men and women in uniform and am proud to be able to help provide them with thorough, well-planned counsel regarding all areas of their financial life. I know how easy it can be to fall short of your goals, but I also know it’s possible to turn that around with just one meeting, one change, and one decision.
I want to help you make the best use of the resources you have to benefit your life and your family for generations. “Wealth” is not just the money you have, it is your ability to use money to achieve the kind of life you want. That’s why I strive to make the financial planning process an enjoyable, uncomplicated, and stress-free experience.
